Kathy has done film work such as standing in for Debbie Reynolds…there have been jingles, many for Irwin Toys as the voice of a little girl. She studied animation voice acting in LOS ANGELES at Voice Trax West with Cindy Acres, Tom Clay, and privately with voice animation actress Joanie Gerber https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_Gerber . Kathy also studied voice acting in Toronto at VoiceWorx with Mike Kirby, at Nelvana with Jessie Thompson, at the ACTRA studio with Albert Schultz (cold reads) and at Ryerson with Roland Parliament. Always keeping sharp, in 2021 took 3 vo workshops with Kim Hurdon Casting.

She studied animation voice acting in Los Angeles and Toronto, and jazz dance as well as Comedy Improv at Second City and Theatresports Toronto, Level V. Kathy was a singing host at Mark Breslin venue “Sing Sing”; and Mark is the owner of Yuk Yuk’s chain of stand-up comedy clubs.
Kathy is a public speaker with Advanced Bronze designation with Toastmasters International and is a graduate of the National Institute of Broadcasting. She has taught classes and workshops on voice improvement for communication skills at The Learning Annex, Centennial College and ACTRA Toronto. One of her voice classes was featured on CBC Radio One on "Lost and Found", then again with Sook-Yin Lee on "Definitely Not The Opera". Kathy is a Certified Teacher of Adults honours graduate, and completed: “Foundations of Coaching: The Gestalt Way”. She was featured as a guest on air with CBC’s Brent Bambury as a wedding speech consultant.

Since her first performance at age 16, Kathy has been a professional singer, getting her musical roots as a voice major at Humber College in Toronto, and studying with various private voice teachers. She was posted in Ottawa where, after Basic Training, she achieved the rank of Sergeant and was the vocalist for the Royal Canadian Air Force 55-piece Central Band, and was also a staff copyist / calligrapher. In Toronto she has done performances numbering into the thousands: clubs, festivals, corporate events, private functions, television, film & recordings.
Kathy established her own band with a repertoire of over 400 songs for corporate and private functions, as well as the Martini Jazz Quartet. She was a founding member of The Singers Guild of Toronto and was elected to the Board of Directors, Toronto Musicians’ Association / American Federation of Musicians for 2 years where she was also active on the Public Relations Committee to support live music.

Kathy composed & published 3 indie recordings on CD, one of which still receives Canadian airplay, most notably her Christmas compositon “The Gift of Love”. She won a Scarborough Arts Council Award for one of her original country songs. She was featured singing the music of Harry James in the Toronto Jazz Festival, Canada Day Nathan Phillips Square, and has performed the principal role of the groom’s mother for a dozen years in the musical comedy improv show “Joey & Gina’s Comedy Wedding” as the tipsy Giovanna Prosciutto. Today, Kathy still also sings jazz at venues across southern Ontario such as Edo, The Black Dog Pub, Chalkers, and the Jazz Cabaret at Annabella's.
As the president of PURE VOICE POWER voice coaching for SPEAKERS www.purevoicepower.com , Kathy delivers training workshops for the corporate world. She is a member of the CE faculty at Toronto’s Centennial College to teach a series of classes 2005 through 2012. Kathy is a Certified Teacher of Adults and recently graduated courses such as Coaching The Gestalt Way and The Psychology of Performance at the Artists’ Health Centre Foundation.
Kathy taught MusI.Q. piano computer lab and ran vocal classes for theatre youth students for multi-cultural SuiteLife, and was also the singing teacher for inner city youths at Scarborough Bluffs Music. Kathy was a vocal coach for the iStars Performer Development Centre.
She has been a singing coach since 1992 www.purevoicepower.ca . Kathy also gives Singing for Wellness & Fitness classes to groups of senior citizens at Retirement Residences and Long Term Care Centres. Kathy received her Level 1 Music Cares certificate in 2014 to facilitate musical therapy methods with geriatric residents.
